Der ARTXPRESS ist Teil der vierteiligen Ausstellungsreihe Let’s talk about the Art world, die 2026 im Q18 (Quartier am Hafen, Köln) statt findet. Das Auto erweitert den Ausstellungsraum in die Stadt: Ein Auto mit einem kleinen Kunstwerk an Bord lädt zufällig zusteigende Fahrgäste zu einem spontanen Austausch über Kunst ein und verbindet performative Praxis mit Vermittlung im öffentlichen Raum, während das Projekt mit einem ironischen Augenzwinkern gängige Klischees über Künstler, etwa den bekannten Pommesbudenwitz, aufgreift und zugleich reale Prekarität sowie Unsicherheiten im Kunstbetrieb thematisiert. Auf diese Weise eröffnet die Ausstellungsreihe einen Diskussionsraum, der den Austausch über Sichtbarkeit, Macht, Wert und Klassismus in der Kunstwelt sucht.

ARTXPRESS is part of the four-part exhibition series Let’s Talk About the Art World, taking place throughout 2026 at Q18, Quartier am Hafen in Cologne.

The project extends the exhibition space into the city: a car carrying a small artwork invites randomly picked-up passengers to engage in spontaneous conversations about art, combining performative practice with public engagement in urban space. With an ironic wink, the project also plays on familiar stereotypes about artists—such as the well-known German joke about artists ending up running a french fry stand—while simultaneously addressing the real precarity and uncertainties of working within the contemporary art world.

In doing so, the exhibition series opens up a space for discussion that examines questions of visibility, power, value, and classism within the art world.
